On the dusty streets of Kangulumila, a little girl wanders alone, searching for a place to belong. Nampijja Ruth, no older than ten, has no memory of a family. The villagers whisper about her father, a nomadic farmer who arrived in their village, hoping for a better future. But that future was stolen by the cruel hands of COVID-19, leaving Ruth with nothing not even a home to call her own.
Each night, she sleeps under the open sky, braving the cold and hunger. She watches other children run into their mothers' arms, wondering what it feels like to be loved. Despite her struggles, Ruth's spirit remains unbroken. She dreams of an education, of warm meals, of a family that will call her their own.
