Project Summary
Wobulenzi Vocational Institution is a vocational training center located in Luweero District, Uganda, committed to empowering young people through practical technical education. Our institution provides marketable vocational skills that enable unemployed and disadvantaged youth to secure employment, start small businesses, and become self reliant.
We are seeking funding to support 120 young people to complete a five month intensive training program in Metal Fabrication and Welding. The program combines classroom instruction with extensive handvocational on practical training, preparing participants with the technical and entrepreneurial skills needed to earn sustainable incomes.
The Need
Youth unemployment remains one of the greatest challenges facing Luweero District. Many young people have the desire to learn a trade but cannot afford vocational training or the materials required for practical learning.
Metal fabrication is a high-demand skill across Uganda, with opportunities in construction, agriculture, manufacturing, and engineering. However, our institution lacks sufficient workshop materials and financial resources to provide quality practical training for all deserving students.
Without donor support, many talented young people will miss the opportunity to acquire life-changing skills.
Project Goal
To empower 120 vulnerable and unemployed youth in Luweero District with practical metal fabrication and welding skills that lead to employment, entrepreneurship, and improved livelihoods.

Training Program
The five-month course will include:
Arc welding
Gas welding
Metal cutting and grinding
Fabrication of doors, gates, windows, and steel structures
Agricultural equipment repair
Reading technical drawings
Workplace safety
Entrepreneurship and business development

The cost of training each participant is US$250 for the full five-month course.
