In many communities we serve, children attend classes under trees, in crumbling shelters, or overcrowded rooms with no desks, no toilets, and no protection from the elements. These unsafe conditions discourage attendance, hinder learning, and put childrenespecially girls at risk.

Through our school construction programs, we partner with local communities to build strong, child-friendly classrooms, equipped with desks, clean water access, proper sanitation, and inclusive spaces for learning. Each school built becomes a beacon of hope a place where children feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed.

The Reality of Poor School Structures in Uganda 

Across many parts of Uganda, children attend school in deeply inadequate and unsafe structures. Some sit on dirt floors under trees, exposed to rain, wind, and the scorching sun. Others study in crumbling mud-walled classrooms with leaking roofs, broken windows, and no desks or learning materials. In many schools, there are no toilets, no clean water, and classrooms so overcrowded that students are forced to learn in shifts or stand throughout the day.

These harsh learning conditions affect everything attendance, concentration, health, and dignity. Girls drop out early due to the lack of private sanitation facilities. Teachers struggle to deliver quality lessons in environments unfit for learning. And children, full of potential, lose motivation in a system that fails to protect and inspire them.

Ugandan children deserve better. They deserve safe, supportive spaces where learning can truly happen. With your help, we can build classrooms not just to shelter children, but to uplift generations.

Funds Foundation: Building 86 Schools, Building Brighter Futures

At Funds Foundation, we understand that a safe and well-built school is more than just a structure it is a foundation for opportunity, dignity, and transformation. That is  why we launched one of our most ambitious initiatives yet: the construction of 25 schools across Uganda most underserved regions.

These projects are a direct response to the crisis of poor learning environments schools without walls, leaky roofs, or basic sanitation. We are changing that, one school at a time.

Each of the 25 schools is designed to be child-friendly, inclusive, and sustainable, with proper classrooms, desks, clean water, latrines, and space to learn and grow. We engage local communities in the building process to create ownership and long-term care.

Already, thousands of children have moved from unsafe learning spaces into classrooms that protect, inspire, and empower. With your support, we are not just constructing buildings we are creating safe havens where futures are born.
