A Message to Our Supporters: Why Caring for Homeless Dogs Matters to Society

At the FANDS Foundation, we believe that the way we treat the most vulnerable among us include animals reflects the heart of our community.

Every homeless dog represents more than just an animal in need. Uncared-for stray dogs can suffer from hunger, disease, and injury, and when left on the streets, they often face danger or become a public safety concern. By building a shelter, we are not only giving these animals a second chance at life we're making our communities safer, more compassionate, and more humane.

Sheltering and caring for homeless dogs helps in many ways:

  At the FANDS Foundation, we rescue homeless dogs from the streets and take in those abandoned by families who can no longer care for them. These animals are often left without food, shelter, or love and we are here to change that. We are currently working to build five dog shelters across different regions of Uganda, where rescued dogs will receive proper care, medical attention, and a chance to be adopted into loving homes.
