Kisakye's Story
KisKye is a 10-year-old boy with a bright smile and a big dream. He hopes to become a medical officer one day so he can treat sick people in his community. Whenever someone in the village falls ill, KisKye becomes very curious. He asks questions and says that one day he will wear a white coat and help save lives.
However, KisKye comes from a very poor family. His parents struggle every day to find food for the family and cannot afford to pay school fees. With several children to care for, they are overwhelmed and unable to provide the basic needs required for education. Because of this, KisKye’s dream is slowly fading.
If KisKye is not supported to stay in school, he may be forced to drop out at a very young age. Instead of learning and building his future, he could end up doing small jobs to help the family survive. His dream of becoming a medical officer would disappear, and the community would lose a child who could one day help save many lives.
