Keron is a thirteen-year-old boy from Uganda with a heart full of courage and a dream bigger than his circumstances. Life has not been easy for him—he comes from a poor family, and many days he goes to school with no hope that he will eat anything in the day. But despite the hardships, Keron carries a strong dream: he wants to become a policeman.
This dream was born the day he saw a group of older boys bullying a younger child on his way home from school. The little boy cried for help, but no one came. Jacob was too small to fight them, but in his heart he thought, “One day, I will be strong enough to protect the weak.”
From that moment, Keron’s purpose became clear. He doesn’t just want to wear the uniform—he wants to serve with honesty, courage, and compassion. He says, “If I become a policeman, I will stand for the children, the widows, and the poor. I will protect those who cannot protect themselves.”
At school, He works hard. His favorite subject is Social Studies because it teaches him about laws, leadership, and justice. But challenges threaten his dream. His family struggles to pay his school fees, and sometimes he is sent home. He studies under the shade of trees, borrowing books from friends, determined not to give up.
In the evenings, Keron also helps his mother with chores, then quietly imagines himself in the future—walking with confidence, wearing the police uniform, keeping peace in his community.
His dream is not for himself alone. He dreams of a safer community where children can walk freely, where the weak are cared for, and where justice is fair for all. Though he has no one to support him now, he believes that with education and help, he can achieve his dream and serve his people with honor.
