Silver's Story
Silver is an 11-year-old boy with a heart full of dreams but a life weighed down by hardship. After losing his mother at a young age, he lived with his elderly grandmother in Mubende, who struggled to provide even the most basic needs. One day, his father took him away from his grandmother, drove him far from his home district, and abandoned him on the streets. From that moment, Silver had to learn to survive on his own.
Despite the pain and uncertainty he faces each day, Silver holds tightly to one powerful dream—to become a pilot and one day fly high above the clouds. To keep that dream alive, he works as a small security guard at night, watching over people’s animals so they are not stolen. During school holidays, he digs in people’s gardens, earning a little money to try and pay for school fees and basic supplies.
However, Silver’s struggle is overwhelming for a child his age. Without support, the burden of survival may force him to abandon school completely. His dream of becoming a pilot could fade away, replaced by the harsh reality of life on the streets, child labor, and continued poverty.
With the support of a caring donor, Silver can return to school, rebuild hope, and work toward the bright future he still believes is possible.
