Faith is a young girl from a small village in Uganda. Life has not been easy for her—her family struggles with poverty, and many other consiques that comes by the result poverty, Faith carries a bright dream in her heart: she wants to become a teacher.
The dream was born in her classroom. Even though her school has very few books and the chalkboard is old and cracked, Faith admires her teacher deeply. She watches how the teacher explains lessons, encourages children to learn, and brings hope to the entire class. One day, Maria whispered to herself, “I want to be like her. I want to teach children so that they can have a better future.”
At home, Faith always practices teaching. She gathers her younger siblings and the children in her neighborhood, using a stick to write letters in the dirt. With a smile, she teaches them how to read and count, even though she has no books of her own.
But Faith’s dream is not without struggles. Her parents cannot always afford school fees, uniforms, or supplies. Sometimes she is sent home from school, and she fears that her dream of becoming a teacher will fade away. Still, she does not give up. She says, “Even if I have no books, I can still learn. One day, I will stand in front of a class and help children like me.”
Faith’s vision is not just about herself. She wants to return to her community as a teacher, to give other children the chance to learn and rise out of poverty. She dreams of building a better tomorrow, one lesson at a time.
