In a small village in Uganda lives a young boy named Richard . He is only fourteen years old, but his eyes shine with a dream far greater than the hardships around him. Richard lost both his father when he was very young, and since then, he has been struggling to grow up without the love and support of a father in life.
Despite the loneliness and poverty he faces every day, Richard holds tightly to his dream: he wants to become a doctor. He has seen how sickness has taken away many lives in his village, including his own parents. He often tells himself, “If I can study and become a doctor, I will save lives. I don’t want other children to lose their parents the way I lost mine.”
Richard walks to school every morning with hope in his heart, even though he doesn’t always have proper shoes or school supplies. Sometimes he is sent home because he cannot pay his school fees. On those days, he sits under a tree with his worn-out books, teaching himself the lessons he missed.
At night, when the village is quiet, Richard studies under the faint light of a small candle. He dreams of one day wearing a white coat, treating the sick, and bringing healing to his community. But deep inside, he knows his dream is slipping away unless someone can help him.
Richard has no one to support his education, a single mother can not pay his fees, and no relative who can provide for his needs. All he has is determination, courage, and a burning dream to become a doctor. He believes that with a helping hand, he can turn his dream into reality—not just for himself, but for all the people he hopes to serve.
