Nakamatte's Story
Spaice is a cheerful and passionate young girl whose dream is to become a professional cook. While many children dream of toys or travel, Spaice dreams of kitchens filled with the aroma of delicious meals. She says, “I just want to be in the kitchen, cooking chicken and making people happy with food.” Her love for cooking began when she helped her mother prepare simple meals, despite the little they had.
But Spaice’s dream feels far away. She comes from a poor family where even a basic meal is sometimes a struggle. There are days when there is no food on the table, and still, she holds onto the hope of one day wearing a chef’s coat and cooking in a real kitchen. She imagines owning a small restaurant where no child goes hungry, and every dish is made with love.
